1. Eligibility.
To participate at this contest, you must be 18 years of age or older. The contest is not open for employees of Gates, including their immediate families. You may take part in the contest as many times as you wish, providing you send in pictures of different applications.
2. Public viewing (and voting).
All eligible photo submissions (that meet the requirements of these Regulations) will be made available to the public for viewing (and voting).
3. Judging Criteria.
Voting will be at the complete discretion of the Gates-Unicoil judges, and will be based on the creativity, originality and technical quality of the application. The decision of the jury is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
4. Contest Submissions Deadlines.
All entries must be submitted and received by Gates September 15, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. ECT to be eligible to win.
5. Warranties.
You represent and warrant to Gates and their service providers that (i) their use of the materials you submit does not and will not violate or infringe the rights (including copyright, moral rights, and other intellectual property rights and privacy and personality rights) of any other person, business or any laws, and (ii) you have all the rights necessary to grant all rights and licenses set forth above (iii) the pictures have not been previously published.
6. Winner Notification.
Winners’ names will be announced by Gates before October 15, 2007. The winners will be notified by email, phone, or mail within fifteen (15) business days of winning.
7. Accurateness
You promise that your photograph accurately reflects the subject matter and scene as it appeared, and that it has not been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, adjustments to color and contrast, etc). You give Gates the permission to take a picture of your application at the original premises, should Gates deem necessary to do so.
8. Use of your pictures (license)
You agree that the images you submit may be used by Gates in a printed publication, on a Web site, in a slideshow and screensaver, or in any other media, and may be copied and displayed in any country. You may not revoke this permission to allow Gates to use your images. Although you are agreeing to allow Gates to use your images, you remain the owner of your images and may also use them in any manner you choose.
9. Miscellaneous.
By participating in this contest, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of Gates, which are final in all matters relating to this contest. Participants may not exchange the prize for cash, an alternative prize or prize reduction. Arrangements for the fulfillment of all prizes will be made by Gates. Receipt of any prize is conditioned upon compliance with any and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Winners of any prize(s) will be solely responsible for payment of all federal, state, and local taxes.
